About Our Judges

TOM RARICK is the percussion arranger and composer for the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps. Mr. Rarick is also a percussionist with the United States Air Force Band, a position he has held since 1997. He received a Bachelor of Arts in percussion performance from Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he studied under Dr. Gary Olmstead and Dr. Jack Stamp. Mr. Rarick is in demand as an arranger, clinician, consultant and adjudicator for groups across the country. He is proud to be a signature artist for Innovative Percussion and also endorses Evans Drumheads. Mr. Rarick currently resides in Laurel, MD with his wife Tricia, and their dog Petey.


JEFF AUSDEMORE comes to us from Colleyville Heritage High School, where he is the percussion coordinator, head of jazz studies, and co-director/composer/arranger of the CHHS marching band. Mr. Ausdemore is also the percussion arranger and caption head for the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps, a position he has held since 2006. In addition, Mr. Ausdemore is an experienced performer, most recently as the principal percussionist with the Texas Wind Symphony and principal percussionist/assistant principal timpanist with the Las Cruces Symphony. In his spare time, he gives performance, clinics, and workshops around the United States and internationally.


RAY ULIBARRI is a percussion instructor at Reagan High School in San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Ulibarri is currently the Percussion Arranger for the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corp. Prior to this, he was the Caption Head of the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps and the front ensemble arranger and caption head of the Blue Knights World Percussion Ensemble. Both groups are recognized as innovators in the world of percussion and have placed in the top three in the world. Mr. Ulibarri is an active music adjudicator and clinician throughout the country. He also studied with Ralph Hardimon, Gray Barrier, Doug Walter, Doug Rosener, Amy Smith, and Mark Foster. He is endorsed by Innovative Percussion, Evans, Zildjian, and Yamaha.
